Songwriting is where technical skill meets creative expression. You don’t need to be an advanced musician to write great songs — but understanding the fundamentals of Music Theory and harmony gives you dramatically more tools to work with. Our songwriting curriculum balances craft with creativity, giving you frameworks without stifling your voice.

Students learn by doing — every lesson involves writing. We analyze songs you love, identify what makes them work, and apply those techniques to your own compositions. Whether you’re writing pop, folk, rock, country, or R&B, the fundamentals of great songwriting are universal.

Songwriting pairs naturally with Acoustic Guitar, Piano, or Voice lessons — having an instrument to accompany yourself is a huge advantage. Our Chord Finder tool is a great companion for experimenting with progressions between lessons.
