Why We Offer Free Sheet Music
At Soul Music Lessons, we believe that access to quality sheet music should never be a barrier to musical growth. Too many students — especially beginners — struggle to find appropriate repertoire at their level. The internet is full of poorly transcribed tabs and inaccurate arrangements that teach bad habits and frustrate learners. Our free sheet music library solves this problem by offering carefully curated, professionally prepared materials that match what our instructors teach in private lessons.
Every piece in this library has been selected or arranged by our teaching team. We choose music that builds specific skills while remaining musically satisfying — because students practice more when they enjoy what they are playing. Whether you are working through your first simple melody or preparing a concert piece, you will find materials here that challenge you at exactly the right level.
How to Use This Library
All materials are available as downloadable PDFs. Simply click the download link, save the file, and print it out for your music stand. We recommend organizing your printed sheets in a three-ring binder with dividers for each category — songs, scales, exercises — so you can find what you need during practice sessions quickly.
If you are a current Soul Music Lessons student, your instructor may assign specific pieces from this library as part of your weekly practice plan. You can also access personalized materials through your Student Portal once it launches.
Beginner Songs
Our beginner collection focuses on simple melodies that use a limited range of notes and straightforward rhythms. These pieces are perfect for students in their first year of study. You will find arrangements of well-known tunes that are recognizable and fun to play, along with original compositions designed specifically for beginners. Each piece includes fingering suggestions, bowing or picking indications where appropriate, and practice tips.

Intermediate Repertoire
Once you have mastered the basics, intermediate repertoire introduces more complex rhythms, wider ranges, key changes, and expressive techniques. This collection includes classical pieces from composers like Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven, popular song arrangements, and folk music from traditions around the world. Intermediate pieces help you develop sight-reading fluency, dynamic control, and musical interpretation — the skills that separate casual players from confident musicians.

Advanced Performance Pieces
Advanced students preparing for auditions, competitions, or recitals will find concert-level repertoire here. These pieces demand technical precision, musical maturity, and performance stamina. We include standard repertoire commonly requested at GMEA All-State auditions, youth orchestra placements, and college entrance exams — with practice notes from our instructors who have guided students through these exact auditions.
